The National WWII Museum is a humbling and unique experience to step into the history of WWII and learn about how much was sacrificed by these men and women. There are exhibits, multimedia experiences, artifacts, and first-person oral experiences to learn from. By visiting you can add to your appreciation to those who bravely served our country. The National WWII Museum's goal is to help all to understand the price of freedom and to leave feeling inspired!
Exhibits include The Arsenal of Democracy, Road to Tokyo, Road to Berlin, The D-Day Invasion of Normandy, US Merchant Marine Gallery, Bayou to Battlefield, and more. These exhibits have a personal way of helping expand our understanding of the courageous leaders and ordinary men and women who were involved in WWII.
There are different tours available that will offer an even more educational experience. There is a Behind the Lines Tour that allows you to see private collections and archives from the war. The Campaigns of Courage Tour is guided by a guide from the museum that brings the stories to life chronologically. These and other tours are a sure way to enhance your experience and your learning at the museum.

Dinning at The National WWII Museum
There are two different dining options for you to choose from during your visit and both are spectacular!
The American Sector serves lunch and dinner from 11 am to 6:30 pm. Ribs, wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more! Definitely a classic restaurant with amazing food that you won't want to miss out on.
Jeri Nims Soda Shop serves breakfast, lunch, ice cream, and other great treats! Be sure to stop by! They are open 7 am to 5 pm.

Amazing adventure
WWII comes to life here. The documentation, the artifacts, the technology, the storytelling, the volume of information, the size and space required a full day, and so intrigued we could have returned another day. Helpful volunteers ...just awesome. Don't miss it.

Excellent schooling on WW2!
This museum could be a master class on WW2. You can visit and spent 3 hours or 8 or more hours.My wife and I spent about 4 hours here a couple weeks ago. Spoke with some other people that that were coming back for their second DAY at the museum. Nice display of WW2 aircraft and information about Higgins Industries (the reason this museum is in NO) and the PT Boat. I would highly recommend this museum for anyone with even a remote interest in WW2.
